Wendover Drive parade of shops

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 11:09, Mon 2 March 2015

Sent to Bedford Borough Council less than a minute later

There are two disabled parking pays outside of the shops. Each at either end of the available parking. I requested they be relined as disabled bays in January 2014 with numerous follow up phone calls to BBC Highways. Non-disabled shoppers park in these bays constantly meaning that elderly people being dropped off have to double park at the roundabout a very dangerous situation. I was informed by BBC Highways Manager that temporary lines would be put in in November 2014 and that the work has not been done since January 2014 owing to poor weather!

  • After reporting the outstanding issue on this website I was phoned by the Bedford Borough Council Highways team to inform me that the work would be completed by the end of March. Unfortunately, as yet 11/04/2015 it has still not be done. I can only conclude that providing parking facilities for the disabled tax payers of Bedford comes as a very low priority to Bedford Borough Council.
