Illegal parking on pavement

Reported via mobile anonymously at 09:47, Sun 12 May 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5961545.

A common and regular problem on The Ridings, nearby Peart Drive and nearby narrow streets, obstructing pavement access and forcing pedestrians into the road. This is illegal as per rules 243 and 244 of the highway code and double yellow/keep clear white lines are clearly required. As The Ridings has a blind bend in the road and cars are regularly racing up and down the road it's only a matter of time before a pedestrian forced into the road is hit by a car. I've witnessed pedestrians having to walk in the road on many occasions due to inconsiderate drivers.

  • Another regularly offending driver

  • A recent and regular example of illegal parking with all four wheels on the pavement. Illegal as per both rules 243 and 244 of the highway code. The council and police need to do more to deter inconsiderate drivers like this.

  • Same inconsiderate drivers parking illegally and fully on the pavement again

  • Still regular illegal parking and no action taken by police or local council

Posted anonymously at 08:25, Mon 20 May 2024

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 14:21, Sun 9 June 2024

  • Fortunately the police/council appear to have taken action against some of the above drivers, but now new ones are breaking the law/highway code.

  • Still an ongoing issue, as you can clearly see from this ridiculous, inconsiderate parking.

  • Months have passed and still this recurring issue is not being dealt with by the council or police. More examples of continued illegal parking, completely blocking pavements and forcing pedestrians into the road.
