Temporary traffic lights and works at Hayes Road near Wentworth Road junction

Reported via mobile in the Complaint category anonymously at 09:38, Fri 10 May 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Hounslow Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5954659.

It appears that works have been commenced at this location with a 3 way temporary traffic light system. This is causing substantial delays in both directions on Hayes Road. The roundabout adjoining Hayes Road and The Parkway is adversely impacted - the backed up traffic from these works is causing congestion and blockages in all directions. It is particularly frustrating that advanced notice was not provided (are these emergency works?) and thus far, I have not personally witnessed any work being undertaken during both mornings and afternoon since this began. Hayes Road has been regularly impacted by roadworks over the past two years and Hounslow Highways owes tax paying residents a suitable explanation as to why this happens with such a high frequency. Furthermore, what impact assessment is carried out with regards to traffic and congestion? What mitigating actions are taken to lessen the impact (e.g. Night works)?
