Potholes at various places on the A27 Chichester Bypass between Havant and Chichester.
Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 15:50, Wed 25 February 2015
Sent to West Sussex County Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 594301.
Since the winter of 2013 an increasing number of potholes have developed along this stretch of road. Cars travel at high speed along there and the situation is getting dangerous. Could the relevant authorities please carry out the necessary repairs? Many Thanks (Mr Devendra Gadgil)

I accept the council's report that the problem is not critically important but cars do move at high speed along the A27 between Chichester and Havant. Hitting pot holes, even shallow ones at high speed must do the car suspensions some damage. I counted 30 pot holes on the Havant Chichester stretch and 100 on the Chichester-Havant stretch. The situation may not be critical but pretty serious.

The A27 has been like this for months now, some of the potholes are at least 3ft wide now in places on both sides of the carriageway between Chichester and Emsworth in lanes 1 and 2 through the section...might as well reclassify it as the C27! (The Highways Agency are responsible for this section)

Had a near miss at 70 mph with a blue BMW driver who swerved into my lane to avoid a pothole.
This is a serious issue that has slowly been escalating. Is the council waiting for an accident to happen before taking any action? It is pretty negligent of them.

Both carriageways on the A27 are riddled with potholes. It is getting serious with large sections of the surface now missing and the concrete below exposed. I am a motorcyclist and I certainly think the state of the carriageway is dangerous.
