Resident using cones to 'protect' parking outside their home
Reported via mobile anonymously at 18:05, Fri 26 April 2024
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5903026.
Resident on York Street, Barton hill, uses parking cones on a daily basis outside their home to prevent anyone else parking directly outside while their vehicle is not there. Anyone who dares to move the cones or unwittingly park outside this property is subject to aggression from the resident. This has been happening for years

This continues to be an issue with the resident at no.17 and also the resident at no.27 has started doing the same thing. Although it is only the resident at 17 who is aggressive & bullying to neighbours and visitors. Really glad someone has reported this. So sick of being shouted at for where I park. Not allowed to have my bin outside my house or this same resident will report me to the council but he sees fit to put parking cones outside his house & behave intimidating towards others for how/where the ark

Resident at 17 York Street continues to leave 3 police parking cones outside his house when his van is not there. The cones take up more than the size of the van. Gets aggressive if anyone moves them or parks outside his house or "too close" to his van. It should not be allowed it is free public parking, no one should be able to do this unless they have a designated disabled parking space. Resident at 27 york street has started doing the same, although he is not aggressive

Unauthorised cones are used outside by three houses on this road - near number 4, number 17 and number 27 causing clear obstruction on the road. This has been happening for years but the combination of more residents partaking in space saving and the introduction of the bike hangar, has caused an obvious parking issue on York Street which we need rectified soon to avoid escalation. In the day time visitors, workmen and delivery drivers struggle to park up and this continues well into the evening when people come home from work. Space saving should only be permitted for those who really need it in our community - blue badge holders. Please could the highways team investigate and deal with this issue in a timely and appropriate manner as this is the 5th reported issue with the original post dating back to April.
The street is a public highway, not a private driveway.
