Bramhall Lane, North Rode

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 19:26, Mon 22 April 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5886426.

This has already been reported by several others but in the absence of any remedial action being taken to date thought it worth re-iterating the following; -This has been a persistent issue for several years -Remedial works completed last year have not worked and appear to have exacerbated the problem -The current flooding has now been constant for a number of weeks and is not reduced by better periods of weather - The flooding is now so severe that smaller vehicle are unable to pass. - There is significant debris from damaged vehicles around and in the flood from the heavily potholed road beneath the water. -There are similar issues on the only other route out from North Rode to the Macclesfield / Gawsworth Road. -Unblocking the drain nearby is unlikely to be a long term solution (this section of road is lower than adjacent fields) and more substantive measures seem to be required (slight raise of road?).

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
