Bridge collapse on footpath

Reported via mobile in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 18:38, Sun 21 April 2024

Sent to Stockport Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5881506.

The footpath running between A626/Lower Fold and Bonington Rise has a bridge collapse. There is now approx 15 foot wide and 5 foot deep trench. There is a pipe just uphill of this, so it may have failed/broken, causing this area to be washed away. It is quite dangerous, especially for anyone using the area in the dark. Approx. Updates

  • Due to a lack of repair, the water running down this site has eroded the banks making it worse. A tree has now collapsed into the trench, hiding an approx 5 foot drop for any kids/person that try to climb over the branches.
