Two drains completely blocked in Beckenham Road

Two drains completely blocked at the crossing where the public need to cross the road. The drains are in line with the path leading to and from The Spa Leisure Centre. Every time it rains heavily the water overspills on to the pavement making it very difficult to cross the road. I am challenged and the traffic is usually very heavy there and when the road and the pavements are swimming with water it’s an accident waiting to happen. The drains haven’t been cleaned for years. This matter really does need attention.

I attended The Spa this morning. The two drains are still completely blocked. It was difficult to cross the road safely where the bollards are because it had been raining hard and there were large puddles. Why aren’t these tasks carried out on a regular basis?

Due to the location of the gullies, Traffic Management is required to carry out the work safely - this type of work is done in bulk and usually takes longer than usual to resolve.

Apologies that this issue is still on-going -the location of the gullies is complex where traffic including bus routes is concerned - we are working with the contractors to get this job completed.
