Dropped kerb is too high

Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 15:11, Monday 15 April 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5855627.

My partner’s wheelchair is unable to get up the dropped kerb as the coping stone is too high. We have to go out into the road and then come up the grass verge to get back on the pathway. This is very dangerous in view of the speed the cars come along the Clifton Road. The access to the pathway going towards Clifton is missing so would be easy to negotiate. Perhaps the coping stone on the Deddington side of this lane (to Leadenporch Farm) just needs to be removed? Sorry I don’t have a photo but could take one if you require.

  • Unfortunately this kerb stone is still causing a problem. We had to go out into the main road again yesterday, got stuck trying to access the path via the grass verge & had to stop the traffic and get someone to help us onto the pathway. It seems to be a very simple solution to have the coping stone removed, as has been done on the other side of the lane. Please expedite.
