Smashed glass bottles Downs avenue BR7
Reported via mobile in the Street Cleansing and Litter category anonymously at 11:57, Thu 11 April 2024
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5838708.
Some random person leaves their half empty bottle of desperados beer on the pavement outside addresses on Downes avenue and the next day smashed glass in 2 places on downs avenue from Walden Road up to the corner of Melanda. It seems to be a regular occurrence that someone late at night abandons a bottle outside peoples gates and drives until it smashes leaving yet another hazard to avoid while people are walking with their children, elderly and disabled people and dogs. It shows such a disrespect for others and the beautiful neighbourhood. Please clear the glass from the pavements. It’s becoming a habit on the lovely grass verge by the Walden shops also, there is a smashed mirror been there for months and yet the gardeners have strimmed the grass and left the broken mirror glass pieces all over the grass, great for dogs to cut their paws, thanks!

All you’ve done is pick up the main piece of bottle and swept a load of glass pieces further into the pavement. There are still many shattered pieces on Downs avenue. Still have to walk in the road to avoid the glass. Not a resolved issue, why can’t it be swept up safely and thoroughly. Still there on pavements and there are 2 new miniature wine bottles, dog poop and rubbish by the small tree so we look forward to more smashed glass again. Friday 12 April

Glass smashed and looks like it’s been kicked away from kerbside toward residential wall. Shattered pieces are across the pavement. Still having to step out into the road to avoid glass getting in dogs paws and damaging wheels on stroller and shoes.
Also notice the new mini wine bottles around the tree. It’s becoming a dumping ground for people to discard glass half empties.
