Double yellow lines needed at entrance to Shelley Close

Reported via desktop in the Road Marking category anonymously at 12:19, Tue 9 April 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5828714.

Shelley Close is a very narrow road which runs off Ridgeway Crescent Gardens. Ridgeway Crescent Gardens is a fairly wide road and, as a consequence, cars can tend to drive fairly fast down the road. When exiting or entering Shelly Close, very often vehicles, including residents, visitors and, more often than not, large delivery vans, are parked on, or near to, the corners of Shelley Close/Ridgeway Crescent Gardens thus obscuring ones view of traffic which is very dangerous.

The Highway Code Rule 243 states:

"DO NOT stop or park opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space".

This rule is certainly not being followed. Illegally parked vehicles have become increasingly worse over the last couple of years and it will not be long before there is a serious accident caused by inconsiderate illegally parked vehicles at this junction.

Please could double yellow lines be instated.

With many thanks for your help, much appreciated.
