Pedestrians display, not sinking with traffic lights

Reported via iOS in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 08:21, Tue 9 April 2024

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5827077.

The Pedestrian display is not sinking with the traffic lights. On Saturday whilst walking back from football. The green man came on for only around five seconds. Because people no longer trust the signal they simply walk across the traffic; it’s not safe!.

Updates

  • There would be a minimum green man time set usually 5-7 seconds. The crossing time for pedestrians is always extended via the detector which you can see on the post above the blue car.

  • Unfortunately Reading Borough Council does not take into account the safety concerns of pedestrian's hence why they can’t be bothered to address this ongoing issue.
