  • When will this deteriorating ‘trench’ be fixed?

Why is it taking so long to do these basic maintenance repairs?

Why, given your comments reported in the Newsshopper newspaper (page 5 May 22nd edition) are you, Bromley Council seemingly unable (or is it unwilling?) to ‘practice what you “preach”….’

    Quote:

“….the reality is that we have a methodical and logical process for repairs….we have reduced the number of potholes very considerably….”

Is quite frankly ‘laughable’….there are tens in not hundreds of long reported unfixed holes and trenches in Chislehurst alone……walk along the busy A222 from the Frognal roundabout west…..and count them!

Photos attached taken 8am Friday 24 May.

Please advise WHEN this ‘trench’ will be fixed.

  • Thank you for your report regarding this issue. Bromley are aware of the significant volume of works raised and outstanding with our contractor and we are continuing to monitor and liaise with them over this outstanding schedule of works. Our Officers are not able to give precise timeframes to individual jobs at this moment but are continuing to undertake regular safety inspections and check any reported issues. We will continue to work with our contractor to ensure that all outstanding jobs are addressed as quickly as they are able.

How many potholes are filled in Chislehurst Ward per week one wonders……does Bromley Council have the figures?

  • See attached photos……following Riney’s repair at c.9am on Friday 28 June. Good ‘news’…..

    But:

    - Note the tarmac section is considerably smaller than the white marked out area.

    - The ‘rough’ area on the western (downhill) side

    - The lack of bitumised seal around the 4 sides to minimise water ingress at the edges….

    - The other, marked up, defects in Lubbock Road were not done at the same time….why not?

Is this the best managed, ‘commonsense’, cost effective approach by Bromley Council to ensure optimal value for money from limited public funds? One wonders…..
