Poor repair is leading to a new pothole developing.
Reported via desktop in the A pothole in road category anonymously at 17:07, Wed 3 April 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5802582.
This pothole was reported as closed on 28th March 2024 (last week). Previously reported under Enquiry Number: 22044788. From the two photos take on 1 and 3rd April it is obvious that the repair is totally inadequate as poor quality ashphalt has been used with no water seal present to existing surface. A large hole is developing in the repair. The contractor has not done their job effectively and should return and carry out a proper repair. Disappointing to see that following a week of work with traffic lights and barriers, leading to delays, the job is shown to be ineffective and poorly engineered. It should also be noted that all the gravel released from the deteriorating roadway is present in the gutters leading to potential damage to car windscreens and blocked drains. Is there not a system in place to audit /check contractor workmanship as this repair lasted two days! Poor value for money. A disappointed taxpayer.

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
