Traffic lights not recognising cycles or turning green

Reported in the Traffic lights category by sarah mander at 13:57, Tue 27 January 2015

Sent to Southampton City Council 3 minutes later

The traffic lights at the junction of Captain's place don't recognise cycles so if there isn't a car behind you the lights will not turn green. When I was at the junction on 22.01 in a car I was waiting for at least five minutes for the lights to go green. I gave up waiting and so did the two cars behind me. I reported this before Christmas and was contacted by someone from Balfour Beatty who said he would look in to the problem. But this problem has not been solved and is dangerous for both cyclists and car drivers.

  • This is still an issue. My partner has to go through red lights every time on his scooter. It needs sorting it's dangerous.
