Pavement been dug up and left

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 12:35, Tue 26 March 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5768197.

This was dug up weeks ago, nothing has been done to rectify the problem the yellow barriers are dangerous and keep falling over, when I last reported this the only thing to happen was a man came and took a photo of the yellow barriers. The problem is that the pavement was dug up and has been left, meaning we cannot pass on this pavement and it is dangerous for tripping. Why on earth did someone dig it all up months before anything was going to be done to rectify it, why not leave it until the week before? It's been madness, leaving a very dangerous situation for weeks, and it's very inconvenient. Can you please get whoever deals with this to come and mend the pavement and clear the obstruction. I shall be writing to my MP, we have disabled neighbours and I am a childminder who cannot navigate small children in and out of my house! It's outrageous!

  • Please can this be sorted out! What on earth is going on? It's been 4 months!!! I want to make a complaint to the council now this is unacceptable. I will be writing to my local councillor and MP

  • I totally agree, this is ridiculous, work started on this mid Feb, we're now almost mid June, and no significant progress has been made in 5 month.

  • The road has been dug up outside my house in February and just left. It's 4 months of me complaining and calling every month. Also neighbours have reported it. It is dangerous and a massive nuisance, one of the families I childmind for had a very close call with their child tripping. Why was it dug up if no one was available to deal with it for 4 months?? I pay my council tax and I am furious if I didn't pay it you would be all over me about it. But yet when soemthing like this happens we as residents are powerless. This is a Tory council and I will be voting for Labour now as this just proves what your council think of people. It is an outrage and the online reporting just enables council workers to be able to evade questions. I want to know when this is going to be resolved and why it's taken so long. I'm sure the local newspapers and TV stations currently reporting on the electioneering would be delighted to feature this story and since I have had no adequate explanation as to what is going on and it being fixed this is where I shall now be headed.
