Intrusion of light into bedroom windows

The placement of this street light has become an issue of late, causing disruption to sleep due to it lighting up into our bedroom. We do have a large tree in our boundary, and if that street light had been placed in front of that, we wouldn't be encountering this issue. I do understand guards can be put in place to stop the light hindering our property.
