Drainage issues on new cycle path

Reported via mobile in the The drain is damaged category by Cllr Cheryl Agg at 13:25, Thursday 14 March 2024

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5712572.

Any ideas about the designation of the route as this affects whether powered wheelchairs are permitted to use it?! class2 chairs (max speed4mph) are only permitted on the road if there is no footpath but they are prohibited from routes that are designated cycles only!

  • Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.

We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.

Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.

Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting

If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting

If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.

We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
