Very long hole in the road surface

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 16:28, Mon 11 March 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5697501.

The road surface has dropped by about 6 inches for a long stretch on this part of the lane, and further on (reported separately). This is more than a pot hole, and is deep enough to cause significant damage to a car if driven over at all but low speed. This has been in this state ever since we moved in in October 2019, and I would expect before then.

Council ref: ENQ24996447

  • This is still an issue and has got worse since I reported it many months ago. The road surface has completed failed along the right hand side Black Bull lane (standing with Old Serles Farmhouse on your left). The problem starts where I have marked on the map and goes on to the gates into Northend House, where there is a very big and dangerous 'cliff' in the road. It is hard to show this in photos, but if you drive along the road you will instantly see what I mean.

  • Thank you for your report. Unfortunately it's not suitable for immediate repair but we have forwarded it to our Asset Renewals Team who will consider it when planning their future works.
