Parked cars at lights
Sent to East Lothian Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5694700.
Cars gradually encroaching onto yellow lines, forcing cars to run the gauntlet to get to the traffic lights. This coupled with the free wheelers flying around the corner is closing the space for anyone trying to reach the traffic light waiting zone. No space for cars to pass...... This light installation worked for long enough at the outset, but now this looks like its going back to normal. they are all aware that no one checks on this space, well at least until the first incident happens. Some free wheelers coming around the corner from the lights are automatically thinking they have right of way ? Having witnesed one yesterday ignorantly gesturing to someone to reverse back down the road to let them passed. This would have been easily resolved had there been space to pull in to que for the lights changing ?

Cars parking continuously on double yellows just before traffic lights, same cars, same spacing. I do think, that they think, it is now their designated parking space. Cars also parking on double yellows as well as parking on pavement at the same time ? Cars also free wheeling through the lights at pace and taking the corner loosely, this needs to be controlled, before something or someone is hit !

Repeating cars parked on pavement and double yellows now ! with hazard lights on. A swing of that camera on salters road that is always pointed in the same direction might help. Pointing in the same direction day and night, does not hold out much hope, but would confirm these happenings for you......

One particular car seems to think they have their own private parking spot, half way along the yellow lines.

Car half parked on double yellow lines and pavement today with flashers on. No where any one was getting past at all.

No change, just yesterday, two cars parked on double yellow lines and the problem of a driver running the gauntlet to pass them, just as a car free wheels around the corner.
Cars now stopping at the lights park as far to the left hand side of the road as possible. Some drivers driving through the lights on salters road are not fully aware of the space available to them at the speed they free wheel around the corner from the lights. This needs to be addressed before someone hits a stationary driver sitting in the middle of their lane at the lights
