Flood

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 14:37, Tue 5 March 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5671928.

This area is flooded over one side of the carriageway after any significant rain, and then remains flooded for days following. This is an ongoing issue which has been happening for more than a year. All that has been done so far is the installation of flood warning signs, but in a position which is too late to allow adequate reaction time.

  • When this floods it gets dangerous for those coming from the crick direction around tge bend to oncoming traffic on your side of the road to avoid the massive flood. You only have to put a pipe under the road to take the excess water away. Buy you probably visit in a dry day and don't see how extensive it floods.

  • Finally the flood has gone, but in it's wake has been left a destroyed road edge extending about 60cm into the carriageway. This comes complete with large lumps of broken up, dislodged road surface and sub-structure just waiting to cause problems.
