Oversized A-Boards

Reported via Android anonymously at 17:17, Monday 4 March 2024

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5667336.

Multiple oversized A-Boards all along Park Row forcing people to walk on the road/cycle lane. The boards outside the White Harte pub are a particular nuisance, especially as they often position one of the next to a sign post, making the available pavement even narrower. Anyone in a wheelchair or with a pram would struggle to get through.

  • The problem has become considerably worse due to the roadworks and pavement works currently being carried out on Park Row. It would be simple for the council to tell the various shops to remove the A-boards, but, was usual, Bristol City Council seems unwilling to carry out even the simplest duties for which they are responsible.

  • The roadworks continue, and the A-boards remain. What is the point of Bristol City Council?!!

  • It's a bit pointless having this app in Bristol. Nothing ever gets done here.

  • Not only have The White Harte got enormous A-Boards, they also employ enormous idiots who place them so close to sign posts that anyone with a pram or in a wheelchair wouldn't be able to pass. But do the council make any effort to do anything about it? No!

  • Bristol City Council - Not fit for purpose.

  • Another photographic example of he sort of moronic mentality that some of the people in pubs and shops have. It's difficult enough for pedestrians to get through at times, but how are wheelchairs and prams supposed to get through. Yet Bristol City Council won't do anything about it!

  • Still nothing done about it. The council are only interested in making travel easier for cyclists, not for pedestrians, and certainly not for the disabled.
