Closed public toilets

Reported via desktop in the Public toilets category anonymously at 17:12, Monday 4 March 2024

Sent to Adur District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5667310.

These public toilets have been closed for several months. The sign says this is due to vandalism and unsociable behaviour. However, this has been the case for several months and the public who use the facilities expect the damage to have been repaired by now and the toilets opened again.

Updates

  • I did get a response from the local authority to say it wasn’t a priority for them.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Nothing has happened, as there is no money available, (presumably to maintain public toilets). The sign on the door says they are closed due to vandalism, but the response from the council did not mention any damage by vandals being repaired, so it wasn't very informative. To me it just said "go away, public toilets are not important enough to us to keep them open".

  • They where closed due to misuse by teenagers smoking drugs in the male toilet areas and doing so when.people wanted to use them and because the police did not get it under control only option is to close them.
