Tree urgently needs topping and pollarding

Reported via desktop in the Non-highway trees category anonymously at 18:28, Mon 26 February 2024

Sent to Fareham Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5635184.

I've reported this tree before ref Enquiry 21628402. It was inspected by Andrew Small in January 2023 who said it was OK physical condition. This tree is dangerously high and leans towards our house, if it comes down it will land on our bedroom roof. The land it sits on is extremely wet, I've seen a similar tree which looked in equally good condition fall on the A27 today, and the 50ft tree we had in our rear garden just fell in 2019 luckily missing houses. This tree has never been maintained to my knowledge and urgently needs a good 30 feet taking off the top and cutting back all round. The leverage due to the height and width must be enormous in the wind. Branches also keep falling on the pavement. Both the large trees on that patch of land need urgent attention. It's got to the stage that if we have high winds we are scared to try and sleep in our bedroom. I dread to think how much damage this could cause to ours or neighbouring houses. I don't understand the reticence in cutting it back to a safe level and maintaining it? Can this be organised please with some urgency
