Road markings on roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 15:06, Fri 23 February 2024

Sent to Milton Keynes Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5621209.

The road markings (lane markings) on the Kelly's Kitchen roundabout were changed during the long closure of Brickhill Road (during winter 2022/23 for building works). This was a good idea as there was no need to provide for traffic heading to Brickhill Road while it was closed. Since Brickhill Road re-opened the markings have not be fully changed back to how they were before. For example, traffic heading from the A4146 to the A5 south is not directed away from the centre of the roundabout as it passes the Brickhill Road exit, unlike it used to be (see photo - Google maps aerial and street views still show the old layout). This causes unnecessary conflict and congestion.

Updates

  • Two years on and this has not been fixed. In the mean time the markings on the roundabout have been repainted but still in the 'wrong' layout.
