Overhanging hedge

Reported via Android in the Hedges category anonymously at 21:43, Thu 22 February 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5617972.

Hedge outside number 9 needs cutting back to the property line as is is approximately covering half the path at one end and 70% the other end. Been reported multiple times on fix my street before as well as contacting the letting agents only to be told it was ok. This hedge needs to be cut back as per section 154 of the highways act 1980. As per this photo evidence attached no-one can pass when a vehicle is parked like this. The hedge covers around 1 metre of path at the nearest end in the photo and approx 1.5 metres the other end of the property

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 21:43, Thu 22 February 2024

  • Landowners and occupiers are required to trim any hedge on their property that is next to the public highway where the growth is preventing the passage, or affecting the safety, of the highway user. In this instance the highway does appear to be obstructed  from full use. The land/property owner will be contacted and if action is not untaken we will follow up accordingly.
