Drain is blocked and flooding onto the street

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 12:31, Wednesday 21 February 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5609484.

We beleive there may be an issue whereby foul water/waste from the houses on The Grove are being directed into the rainwater/storm drain. This is causing the drain to block up and then sewage and foul water floods out onto the street. This was reported to Thames Water initially (because it was foul water), but they advised that the manhole and drain at this point is actually a storm drain, not a sewage drain, and so this would be for the Council to attend to. I've attached some pics showing the manhole.

  • Hello Nothing seems to have been done on this yet, and the situation is much worse after the recent rains. There is raw sewage flooding the road, attention urgently required please!
