Some years ago the council planted conifers close to my house and as they have grown I regularly have to have my phone/broadband cable replaced

Reported via iOS in the Trees category anonymously at 14:54, Friday 16 February 2024

Sent to Leeds City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5587225.

A branch now overhangs the road and is already interfering with the phone cable which will eventually have to be replaced again. Branches need chopping off or the trees reduced in height greatly.

Updates

  • Council told me it is not their responsibility to trim trees such as this and it is the responsibility of Openreach to ensure their phone lines are not compromised by such things as trees. Openreach have replaced my phone lines four times and just thread their cable through the trees rather than by pruning or removing the trees. Openreach are a complete waste of space
