Blocked drains

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 14:05, Fri 16 February 2024

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5586915.

This problem was first reported Oct/Nov 2023 and there have been numerous photos sent along with updates. The latest report number is 5464599 which has now been closed ppresumably because the work has been carried out. However the road in question is still under water the drains are so badly blocked that you can't see them for silt. In other words the situation is now worse than when first reported. Many photos have been sent.

  • Whilst someone has been out and looked at the drains outside the cottages this was not the real problem. The original repor related to the drains either side of the bridge. The flood water was pumped out but there is still silt about 4 inches deep and other rubble that needs clearing or the drains will get blocked again. PLEASE CALL ME AND LET ME KNOW YOUR INTENTIONS AS TO WHEN YOU WILL GET IT SORTED.

  • Can Highways please update on this matter ?

  • Whilst the sweeper has been out the debris on the road is now cleared. However the silt about 5 ins deep under the railway bridge is still there. It only needs to rain again and the road will be flooded. This was first reported in October 2023 and I ask that this is now dealt with as a matter of urgency.

  • The silt has not been removed and is gradually getting worse.

  • The original report was because as a result of flooding the drains under the bridge were blocked. These have been cleared but the silt which is at least 4 inches deep remains and is still causing problems. Please make sure this matter is dealt with as it is now more than 3 months since originally reported.

  • The silt is still under the bridge and has been there so long that weeds are now starting to grow. It doesn't seem to make any difference how many times the problem is reported NOTHING GETS DONE.

  • As already reported several times the silt is still under the bridge. Do not send out the road sweeper as although a good job is done IT ISN'T solving the problem. The onlt thing that will help is if the silt is removed. All it will take is some men with spades so surely that is not too difficult and the work can be scheduled.
