Very long pothole (15-20 ft long x 1ft wide x 3-4 ins deep. Traffic light cabling fully exposed.

Reported via mobile in the Potholes category by Mike Edwards at 12:29, Fri 16 February 2024

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5586305.

I reported this to Reading Borough Council on Monday, 05/02/2024, when it was smaller than it is now. Two working weeks later, no action. The holes have now combined into one huge rut, which could easily unseat a biker or cyclist, and dozens of traffic-light-related cables are now exposed. Putting RBC on notice that they WILL be held responsible for any resulting injury - or worse - to to any road user.

  • Some of the potholes eventually had a bit of asphalt bunged in them but others, right next to them, were left untouched. Anyway, only a few days after the 'repairs', all the asphalt is out again and the traffic-light cabling is being run over and broken. Where is the common sense at RBC?
