Excessive mud/sand on road. Hazardous

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:37, Wed 17 December 2014

Sent to Norfolk County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 558265.

For the past month (approx), there has been a marked increase in heavy lorry traffic from the quarry at Welcome Farm Butt Lane, Burgh Castle. I believe this is due to a contract to supply materials to the works at New Road / Beccles road. Very little, if any effort has been made to: 1 Clean the road. 2 Clean the vehicles prior to exit 3 Ensure the vehicles keep to a slower speed to lessen the deposits. The amount of deposits is now causing a distinct skidding risk, particularly for cyclists / motorcyclists. It is also causing visibility problems when deposited on vehicle glass. The lack of attention is causing "creep" further down Butt Lane towards Stepshort. This matter requires immediate attention by the quarry operator and/or the highways authority in accordance with the Highways Act 1980 Sections148, 149, and 161
