Messy carriageway as a result of building work

Reported via desktop anonymously at 16:18, Thursday 15 February 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5582342.

Unfortunately the road cleaning option seems to have disappeared so entered in 'Other'. Construction work has resulted in slippery clay substance and bits of rumble on the road, making it dangerous, particularly when wet. Please can it be cleared again. I believe the companies working on the site are responsible for this but needs to be chased again. Thanks

  • Thank you for reporting this. Our Site Inspector is checking the state of the roads when he is in the area and has spoken to Bellway Homes a couple of times already, advising that the mud being transferred onto the road is unacceptable and to ensure that the carriageway is kept clean. We can confirm that Bellway Homes do have a road sweeper and wheel washing facilities on site. We will ask the Site Inspector to visit the area again this week.
