Circular Manhole loose on Merton Street outside Mecure Eastgate Hotel

Reported via mobile in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 10:16, Wednesday 14 February 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5574983.

Last night, my partner and I were walking home from a college function. My partner walked on a circular manhole cover on the Eastgate Hotel side of the pavement and it gave way and her leg sunk into it. Unsure how long the issue has been there. She sustained bruising and scrapes to her leg.

  • The exact same thing happened to me on Saturday evening 17th Feb 2024, all the more frustrating when I come to report it and find it's been like that for at least several days. I have deep bruising on my knee and upper thigh, showing how deep into the hole my leg fell.
