Road verge on Congleton Road heading south after leaving Melrose Way roundabout.

Reported via desktop in the Fly Tipping category anonymously at 22:03, Sun 11 February 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5563460.

Three temporary roadwork/road traffic signs on the path/in the grass verge on the right hand side heading South off Melrose Way roundabout. One temporary road traffic sign frame discarded on private property over the wall on the left hand side of the road in the same location. These signs have been here for several years following various Cheshire East highway roadworks, and never removed afterwards. There are four signs here but the reality is they are spread across roadsides all across Cheshire East and beyond. Why aren't these collected after use? They cost a lot of money and are being treated as expendable; being left to litter the roadsides when they should be reused and save the council money which could then be used to fund roadside litter picking, road repairs, permanent sign repairs, sign cleaning, road drain cleaning etc......
