A report about this area of damaged pavement was made in early January 2024. It was marked as "due for repair" on this site for some time and an ODS team arrived on Friday 9th February to repair the pavement. A thoroughly inadequate repair was completed though this was no fault of the two men who were sent here to complete the repair. They were not sent out with a kerbstone and were unable to repair the whole area of damaged pavement because the area marked out for repair by the inspector was too small. What has been done was a complete waste of money as the repair will not last. This is very disappointing and impossible to understand. Outstanding Issues: (i) there remains an area of broken down pavement surface which is dangerous for pedestrians because there is loose material on the surface and it is consequently uneven and hazardous. This is because the area marked out for repair with green paint by the inspector earlier this year was too small; (ii) there is a missing kerbstone so the repaired area will rapidly "fall away" as there is no protection for the replacement tarmac at the edge of the pavement; (iii) this location sits within the North Oxford Victorian Suburb Conservation Area and residents understand that stocks of "old" kerbstones (not modern concrete) are held by the council. One of these "old" kerbstones must be issued to the ODS team which needs to come out to complete the job here properly please. Two cones are currently in place on top of the repaired pavement surface in an attempt to protect this area from further damage by lorries which regularly mount the kerb here and park on/travel along the pavement.
