Numerous reports of dog fouling on Pencaitland Park pitch & grounds

Reported via desktop in the Dog fouling category by Pencaitland & District CC at 11:32, Sunday 11 February 2024

Sent to East Lothian Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5560910.

The Community Council received recent reports that local volunteers had to pick up copious quantities of dog poo left across the football pitch in Pencaitland Park before a regular game could begin. Clearly a concern given the diseases that can be transmitted via a dog's faeces. "Dog faeces can pose a significant health risk to humans, particularly young children as their immune systems are not fully developed. Children are also more likely to come into contact with soil or sand that contains dog faeces whilst playing in parks, gardens and playgrounds."
