Disintegration of road surface and change of camber causing flooding

Reported via desktop in the The drain is damaged category anonymously at 15:07, Friday 9 February 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5554778.

The surface of the road has disintegrated so that the camber of the road has changed and, instead of the water draining into the forest on the right, it's running into the properties on the left. The problem escalated after Gigaclear dug up the road.i don't think this is something we can fix ourselves. It needs heavy equipment and civil engineering expertise.

  • Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.

We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.

Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.

Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting
