12inch pothole on street by post box

Reported via desktop in the Roads category anonymously at 14:20, Friday 9 February 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5554426.

I first reported a pothole on 06/01/24 ref 5404325. Since then two more potholes have appeared in this area. The workers turned up today and repaired the crater and one of the others. They looked at the third one but did nothing with it. There are now 200+ stones in the gutters on both sides of the road that the workmen swept there rather than picking them up. This road is used as a rat run from West town lane to the Wells road and is used by 100’s of cars a day. In a weeks time this pot hole will be as big as the crater they have just repaired. These took 5 weeks to get repaired please try to do this one sooner.

  • This issue is currently under investigation. We'll provide updates on the outcome as soon as we can.

  • This pothole is getting larger by the day and is now causing traffic to swerve into the opposite lane to avoid it. It will cause damage to cars that hit it and significant risk of injury to cyclists and motorbikes. This section of road is breaking up rapidly and really needs resurfacing properly. Please fix this asap!

  • Pothole/crater still hasn’t been sorted and getting worse everyday. Fear there could be a major incident if nothing is done soon. Investigation carried out nearly 2 weeks ago and no update?

Also wondering when Bristol City Council would like to sweep out my driveway, as it appears I now have an extension of Hazelbury Road building up outside my front door. A nights sleep without the sound of thuds when vehicles are passing wouldn’t go a miss either…..

  • When are BCC actually going to repair the whole bottom of Hazelbury road as the whole lot is breaking up and turning into a stone filled lane. The large pot hole has only just been repaired and another one next to this by the postbox has now grown in size to approx 700mm x 300mm x 300mm which is going to injury a cyclist or motorbike rider if hit. There are several spots in the same area that have been poorly filled. Surely it would be more cost efficient to resurface the whole bottom of the road as filling it is just not working (thats if it gets filled).

  • So why did 2 vans from ETM turn up last week and sit there for 15 minutes get out and look at it then drive away. I hope you are not waiting until 18/19th of March when the road will be closed. This needs repairing now. It would be nice to get a reply from BCC regarding this

  • This is now a ridiculous size over 3ft and has affected traffic flow due to it's size.
