Cars ignoring red light and driving through pedestrian crossing on green

Reported via mobile in the Lights are changing too quickly category anonymously at 17:40, Thursday 8 February 2024

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5550356.

Cars are routinely jumping the red light at this junction, to such an extent that they are driving through the pedestrian crossing when the green light for pedestrians is showing. I walked home at about 5.15pm today and as I was about to cross two cars drove straight through when the light was green for pedestrians. If I was blind and relying on the crossing sound I would have been knocked over. Please either extend the time between red for cars and green for pedestrians, or install a red light camera to stop drivers jumping the lights.
