Fly tipping the entire length of Clive Lane

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 14:53, Tue 6 February 2024

Sent to Cardiff Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5539339.

It appears that the entire length of Clive Lane has unfortunately turned into a local dumping ground, with people discarding various items such as general waste, bricks, mattresses, doors and household detritus. It has been in this state for some years now.

As someone who uses this lane regularly, particularly to access Ikea, it has become disheartening to witness the degradation of this space.

Additionally, with the recent housing development built in the last year alongside this lane, I can only imagine the negative impact this unsightly situation must be having on the new residents.

Given the number of car repair businesses along this lane, it is also plausible that some of these business owners may be contributing to this unofficial dump. I have also witnessed the burning of rubbish in braziers, emitting noxious fumes that must be adding to the environmental concerns.

I have discussed this issue with the Operational Lead for the Probation Service's Community Payback Scheme, but he insisted that I bring it to Cardiff Council's attention for them to address first.

He stated he would then be willing to take it on as a project in collaboration with Cardiff Council so that they would have unlimited use of Council tips.
