Loxbeare Drive, Furzton

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 07:13, Thu 4 December 2014

Sent to Milton Keynes Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 553609.

Two manhole covers right next to a speed plateau are loose and creating loud noise nuisance (100 decibels+) every time vehicles drive over them which is causing sleep disturbance all through the night for local residents. This has been ongoing since last winter. Local residents nearby could not have windows open during the hot summer nights due to the noise disturbance but this has now increased to a point where even with closed windows the noise is disturbing our sleep.

I have marked the exact location on the map but I will try to describe it:- Enter Loxbeare Drive from Chaffron Way and continue over the first speed plateau by Bilbrook Lane. Continue on Loxbeare Drive until reaching the second speed plateau by Porlock Lane. The two offending manhole covers are on the right hand side of the road (travelling in this direction) just before arriving at this speed plateau. The problem is exacerbated here due to vehicles coming down off the speed plateau and so driving over these manholes with the additional downforce produced by this action.

Can the council please fix these manholes so we can all return (at last) to getting a decent night's sleep. Thank you.
