Trees overgrowing

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 11:58, Sun 4 February 2024

Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5529878.

For last few years trees and bushes have not been pruned in this area. Everything is growing wild obstructing public paths and neighbouring gardens and nurseries yard. This enclosed by overgrown trees and bushes area is adjacent to Acorn nursery. growing wild greenery gives privacy and shelter to individuals doing drugs and drinking alcohol. Overhanging brunches give illegal activities enough cover not to be seen from Roman rd. However, can be potentially seen by kids in the nursery. The area encourages yangsters to gather around make the path too intimidating to pass through, especially when coming back with kids from the nursery. Also the area became a dumping ground for rubbish, like old tvs and bin bags.

Updates

  • Hi, this is Mayuri Sukirthan from 30 Atherstone Road (LU4 8QX). On our driveway there is an overgrown tree that hasn’t been cut in 7 years. When we park in our driveway we feel as though the branches are going to snap and damage our car. We have this issue mainly when it is the windy season. We complained a few years back about this situation but no one took any actions. Please consider this. Thank you
