Sign damaged

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 18:29, Wednesday 31 January 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5516918.

The cycling activists that think they are entitled to ride anywhere, have once again defaced the cycling prohibition sign at the Leys entrance to St Mary's churchyard. Please can you repair/replace it & also consider adding "No Cycling" sign plates underneath too, as many adults seem to have trouble understanding what the pictorial ones mean.

Council ref: ENQ24990197

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 18:30, Wednesday 31 January 2024

  • They are not "activists" - they are just plain cyclists. ALL cyclists (not just "adults") don't know what the signs mean, don't know the Highway Code, ... and probably can't or won't read/obey. They will continue, quite regardlessly, to cycle wherever THEY please with NO regard for any pedestrians.
