Flooded pavement

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 13:03, Wed 31 January 2024

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5515193.

Pavement at north-east corner of junction between St Vincent St. and W. Nile St. always floods when it rains due to a large dip in the pavement here (outside All Bar One). This has the effect of causing pedestrians to push out onto the road when it is flooded, which presents a risk to people at this busy road crossing.

Updates

  • I see now that it is not just because of a tip on the pavement - the drain on the pavement and the adjacent drain on the road are ineffective, perhaps blocked.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 13:20, Thu 29 February 2024

  • Now the pavement slabs around the drain are coming loose as the mortar is being washed away.
