Historic sign damaged

Reported via iOS in the Sign Missing/Damaged category by Steve Sangster at 22:09, Wed 24 January 2024

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5487887.

Sadly this historic sign has fallen and been damaged. I have taken it in for safe keeping at 31 Broomhill Road. It is over 100 years old and a cultural asset. Councillor Simon Fawthrop and Ben Johnson (Head of Council Planning) are aware. It is recommended Simon Went (council conservation officer) is made aware. The community are very much in support of repairing this sign on a like for like basis. It is the only historical monument we have in the Knoll. Steve Sangster, Chair, Knoll Residents Association.

  • We apologise for the lack of update regarding this enquiry. We can confirm the sign has been ordered and should be installed on site end of May/ early June 2025. The main delay to this particular issue was caused by ownership of the post and this type of sign not being available in current contracts. The new sign has been ordered 230mm deep and about 700mm long with typeface to match as closely as possible the other signs on site.
