Vehicles Jumping Red Lights - accident waiting to happen
Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 09:20, Wed 24 January 2024
Sent to Liverpool City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5483791.
On a daily basis, I encounter vehicles jumping the red light from the slip / junction which leads from the end of the M62 onto Queens Drive towards Childwall Fiveways (by the Rocket pub). On several occasions I have witnessed and been involved in near misses as traffic passes this point from the North of the city and there is no regard to the red light from vehicles exiting the M62. Would the council / police / highways agency be able to review this junction and if possible look to install red light traffic enforcement cameras.

Since posting, Liverpool City Council have said it is not their responsibility and passed me to Merseyside Police. Merseyside Police have no online mechanism to report issues. I have contacted Merseyside Road Safety Partnership two weeks ago, but recieved no correspondence from them. Basically careless drivers exiting the M62 onto Queens Drive will inevitably cause an accident one day but no authority is willing to address the issue it seems.

Still open, via questionnaire -
Issues still persist and I have had no correspondence from the Merseyside Roads Policing unit. Really poor response to a dangerous issue.
