Pedestrian Risk

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 04:17, Tuesday 23 January 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5478447.

Hello, I have concerns with no signs at the footpath near my address CUNNINGHAM CLOSE (end of this road) and WHARF ROAD, this footpath is in heavy use on a daily basis and heightened during school hours, as per the Highway Code pedestrian shouldn’t cross during illuminating reversing lights but, this still happens, I’m concerned because if I hit a person or child the onus is on them but this shouldn’t be the case. Please can I request 2 signs to notify pedestrians of reversing vehicles or moving vehicles to mitigate an accident as there have been too many near misses already. If the council doesn’t act this will happen eventually, please mitigate this to prevent escalation.
