The stump will be removed in due course--it often takes many months as they prioritise other works. Please note that a new tree will be planted during the next season which is Dec-March 2024/25. We kindly ask all residents who are willing and interested to water trees in addition to our crews who water them in the summer. Please take all required precautions if you chose to also water the trees. The extra water will ensure their best chances of survival and good growth. See more info at Arboricultural Association - Watering young trees in dry weather
Wherever possible, simple weeding and mulching around the base of the trees using the grass immediately around the trees will also help increase their chances of survival and growth.
Our aim is to establish a Forest of Street Trees through the LBB Treemendous Project over the next 5 years and we kindly appreciate the tree care given by residents to ensure every tree is established well and can grow to maturity. My apologies, the clear up process following three recent storms has caused delays to the completion of the works. The contractor is in hand to visit to grind out the stump with a replacement tree to be planted next planting season.
