Bright street lighting (money saving tip)

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5467105.

While I'm sure the new LED street lighting along this and all sections of road are saving a great deal on energy/money, it remains approx 50% brighter than it needs to be. If a dimming system was added the energy savings would directly equal the amount the LED lights are dimmed by. Large savings county wide could be made in this area.

  • Thank you for your report, this will be looked into when we do further dimming and part night lighting, at present it dims to 75% output from midnight to 6.00am but I am sure further amendments can be made.
