Muddy/slippy/dangerous surface
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 18:05, Thu 6 November 2014
Sent to Bolton Borough Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 541895.
Some recent daily activity involving many lorries going up and down the small lane near the map marker (towards Ivy model farm) have resulted in large amounts of mud/soil being deposited on Chorley Old road (either side of this small un-named lane entrance). This heavy mud/soil is a SEVERE danger to road traffic especially when any slight rain has fallen... makes Chorley Old Road. There have been some half hearted attempts to clean up the soil, but a lot remains on a daily basis which is now being spread for several hundred metres in either direction. It is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident from the slippy road surface that has resulted.
It needs some extreme and urgent action to be taken to clean the road surface. (also the activity up and down the lane should be investigated ceased to stop it re-occurring).. Whoever is causing the problem should be made to pay for the cleaning !!

Council emailed back to say they were working with the contractor who was fouling the road surface, but it's still an on-going problem.
With winter coming up , this still needs urgent action to avoid an accident.Posted anonymously at 21:27, Thu 4 December 2014
